All this we can make for You !!! Remembering that every hunter perfectly knows the principles of proceeding with gained game, we dedicate the advices to the adepts of hunting art. Even the best exemplar can be wasted ! Birds Before gaining the bird one should provide in some cotton-wool (to block the beak) as well as in box with loose, dry sand, talc or potato flour -to cover up the bleeding injuries. These old, but very simple and cheap additions will allow the protection of the birds from the feathers permanent contamination with blood. It is proper to remember, that decay processes proceed in birds very quickly and they are irreversible. High temperature and damage of intestines accelerate their tempo. Swamp and water birds undergo the decomposition the most quickly. Additional threat states the content of the crop. After shooting the bird one should put cotton-wool or other absorptive material deeply into beak ( hygienic handkerchief can be used). Then keeping the legs of the bird up, we pour feathers with dry sand, talc or flour. A special attention should be turned on dirty, blood places. So provided trophy should cool down in airy place, and after cooling and drying we should wrap it around with absorbing paper ( the paper towel) paying the attention on the places of adhesion of the wings to stomach and chest. Now birds can wait for preparing in the freezer. Mammals Bleached skulls with beautiful crowns make an impression!.... but how they are to medallions - everybody knows. Boiling and bleaching the skulls we leave for the amateurs. The removal of the skin is not particularly difficult, but it requires some experience. The most subjected on damage places are the regions of eyes, nostrils and mouth. It is possible" to retouch " the mistakes, however we should make efforts to make the "retouch " not the main occupation of the person who prepares the trophy. In the aim of reaching the best effect we should remember about several rules: 1) only correct cut will permit to show the trophy in its whole magnificence 2.) It is better to take off the skin less exactly than to injure it 3.) The provided skin can be stored for a while. 4.) Making the skins on hunting trophies requires the experience. 5.) Optimal cut: behind the 7-th cervival vertebrum or on the level of the line: the spine - scapula- the chest ( the more skin we have, the more magnificent trophy) 6.) All pigmented parts ( mucous membranes) one should leave with the skin. 7.) We leave the ears near the skin- the cut by the base. 8.) In case of preparing whole animals admissible is only eviscerating - we will make the rest alone 9.) It is possible to freeze whole animals if they are small.
